You already know how to perform a root canal. This course teaches you what to do when one has already failed. Every clinician eventually opens a chart to find a well-obturated root canal on the radiograph, and a patient who is still in pain, or a periapical lesion that simply will not resolve. That single moment separates two kinds of practitioners: those who refer the case away, and those who can confidently diagnose the cause, choose the right treatment path, and carry it out to a predictable, evidence-based outcome. This course is designed to move you firmly into the second group. Across one intensive, highly visual session, you will build a complete clinical framework for endodontic retreatment, from first radiograph to final recall. You will learn to distinguish persistent intraradicular infection from extraradicular disease, true cysts, and vertical root fracture, so that you never again invest chair time in a tooth that was never going to respond to non-surgical treatment. You will work through a structured decision framework for choosing between non-surgical retreatment, surgical retreatment, and extraction, so that your treatment planning is defensible, evidence-based, and easy to explain to your patient. On the technical side, this course does not stay theoretical. You will walk step by step through disassembly and gutta-percha removal, safe management of separated instruments, ledges, perforations and calcified canals, and safe removal of posts and cores without unnecessary risk to the root. You will gain a clear, current understanding of disinfection strategy, including irrigant activation and interappointment medication, and of modern obturation using bioceramic sealers. Throughout, every technique is anchored to current AAE and European Society of Endodontology guidance, so what you learn today is what you can defend in front of a colleague, a specialist, or a patient tomorrow.
